Lymphomas are cancers of the lymphatic system, which is constituted by lymphatic vessels and lymphocytes (T cell and B cells). Those cells are responsible for the defence of our organism against outside elements. They circulate in the lymphatic vessels and the blood, and are also contained in the lymph nodes, the spleen, tonsils and bone marrow. There are a lot of different forms of these cancers. They develop from T or B cells, which means that those cells will growth and multiply abnormally after their DNA has been altered (it is the same mechanism as any other cancer).

Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer that begins in cells of the immune system. The immune system fights infections and other diseases.
